I have been a Governor of Coads Green Primary School for many years. I was born at Canworthy Water then, with my parents, moved into Launceston, where I lived until I married and came to North Hill to live forty-seven years ago.
I was employed as a clerk in the Mothers Pride Bakery Depot at Scarne. Sadly the building has now been demolished and rebuilt, by Maunders, who are running their business there.
I am a mother of three sons and one daughter, a farmer’s wife and also we run an agricultural contracting business, so life is busy all the year round. I also have six grandchildren who visit Nanny quite a bit.
For twenty seven years, I supervised North Hill and Lewannick playgroups. I retired from that three years ago. Lots of local children know me and have fond memories as I do of those happy times. I enjoy being a Governor of this caring school. The staff and children always greet me with a sincere welcome, when I visit.
I am also a Parish Councillor which I enjoy as well. Also I am the local correspondent for the “Cornish and Devon post” and the “Cornish Times” and I also help out our three local Funeral Directors, taking the names of those attending a funeral and then write the obituary for the newspapers.
