Since April 2016 the school council has been busy preparing their evidence folder for the PADL award.
One of the items we needed to cover was to involve the community in events, so we decided to take part in the Eden Project “Big Lunch.”
This involves inviting members of the community to join us for a picnic on the village playing field on 14th June 2016.
To organise this the school council has been busy making posters and delivering invites to the local community.
Apart from this we will also be running a fund raising event “Guest the name of the doll” during this event.
Over the past few months we have raised money for both the Cancer Research UK charity and Sports Relief and help to raise money towards our new iPod sound system.
School Council News – September 2016
Since September the school council has been very busy renewing the board and putting up the photos of the council and class representatives.
They have decided to raise money for an A3 guillotine for use in school and are currently holding a “Guess the weight of the pumpkin” competition.
They have also discussed ‘Children in Need’ and have chosen to ask the staff and children to come to school in PJ’s or onesies on the day for a donation of £1, and will be selling festival bands with all money going to Children in Need.
At a request from the foundation stage we are taking photos of the school dinners to show to children who aren’t sure what a particular dish is.
We are looking forward to next half term when we will hold further fund raising events for the guillotine.
