Our Ethos & Principles

Our Aims

At Coads Green Primary School, our Early Years setting is designed to provide every child with a happy, confident start to their school journey. Our aims reflect our commitment to nurturing well-rounded, enthusiastic, and independent learners.

  • To give every child a positive and empowering start to school life, building strong foundations for confident, independent, and lifelong learning.

  • To foster independence within a warm, supportive, and secure environment.

  • To guide children in building strong relationships, developing key social skills like cooperation, sharing, and problem-solving.

  • To help each child discover and celebrate their unique strengths and successes, while providing achievable challenges that inspire growth and resilience.

  • To maintain high expectations that support development across all areas- social, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional- enabling every child to reach their full potential.

  • To ensure all children have the opportunity to shine, contribute, and take part in the wider school community through sporting events, local trips, and visits from engaging guests.

  • To prioritise children's health, safety, and readiness, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive at school and beyond.

A Nurturing Environment

We understand how important it is for children to feel safe, secure, and valued when they're away from their parents or carers. Creating that sense of belonging and emotional security is at the heart of our philosophy.

We strive to ensure every child feels happy, relaxed, and confident, encouraging them to build trusting relationships with both adults and peers in their group. Through gentle guidance and consistent support, children grow in social awareness and self-assurance.

Learning Through Play and Exploration

Our setting is rich with thoughtfully chosen resources and a wide variety of stimulating resources and activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace. Surrounded by friends and caring adults, they play an active role in age-appropriate learning experiences, developing essential skills and a genuine love for learning.

Individual Care, Equal Opportunity

Every child is recognised and celebrated as an individual, nurtured within a framework of strong values, inclusive practices, and the highest ethical standards.

We work closely with families to ensure our care reflects the trust you place in us- providing a safe, inspiring environment that meets the high expectations you have for your child.
