The 80th Anniversary of VE Day

8th May 2025

Coads Green Primary School recently marked the 80th Anniversary of VE Day with a series of heartfelt commemorations. The school was adorned with vibrant displays of red, white, and blue, as both children and staff proudly wore the colours of the Union Jack. This visual tribute set the tone for a day of reflection and gratitude.

We held a special assembly, where students and teachers gathered to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of those who lived through World War II. The assembly was a poignant reminder of the past and a chance for the school community to come together in remembrance.

At 12:00 noon, the entire school participated in a two-minute silence, joining the nation in paying respects to those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. This solemn moment underscored the importance of unity and the enduring significance of remembering our history.

Lest we forget.
