Well folks, things got a little… strange in Class One today. Mrs. Howard's usually calm and orderly classroom was the scene of a frankly bizarre series of events. Let's just say, the learning environment suddenly got a whole lot more chaotic!
It all started this morning. As the children filed in, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, a few gasps rippled through the room. What caused this sudden intake of breath, you ask? I'll tell you what: HUGE, BLACK FOOTPRINTS.
Yes, you read that right. Imprints the size of dinner plates, blackened and smudged, tracking right across the newly-hoovered carpet (Mrs. Howard was not impressed). Theories flew faster than a caffeinated hummingbird. Was it a rogue bear? A very large dog with a penchant for muddy puddles?
But the real kicker came next. On the cupboard door, was a message! The suspense was palpable. The children gathered around, craning their necks to read the scribbled note. 'KEEP OUT! DANGEROUS CREATURE INSIDE!'
And then… the noises. Faint at first, a low rumbling, like a washing machine filled with pebbles. Then, a definite snorting sound. Coming from inside the cupboard.
The air crackled with anticipation (and a healthy dose of nervous giggling). Could it be? Could all of this be connected?
We've been reading "Dragon Post" by the fantastic Emma Yarlett in class, and let's just say, this series of events is making us think that maybe, just maybe, the postman isn't the only one delivering mail... and perhaps, a certain dragon has decided to pay Class One a visit!
Mrs. Howard is currently armed with a feather duster (for defense, of course). Stay tuned folks, this is a story that's definitely not over! We'll keep you updated on the unfolding dragon-related (we highly suspect) drama in Class One! Wish us luck! And maybe send a fire extinguisher… just in case.
