Woodland Skills Centre Visit

Our recent trip to the Woodland Skills Centre was an unforgettable day packed with fun, teamwork, and creativity. The fresh air and hands-on challenges made it a perfect opportunity for everyone to learn new skills while bonding with friends.

One of the highlights was the Tarp Challenge. In this tricky task, the whole group had to stand on one side of a large tarpaulin and, without stepping off, flip it over to stand on the other side. Both teams showed great cooperation, communication, and problem-solving—though the friendly competition made it all the more exciting!

Another fun activity was the Hula Hoop Challenge. They had to pass a hula hoop all the way aroundthe circle while holding hands—without letting go and without touching the hoop with their hands. It was hilarious to watch and even more fun to attempt, as the team had to wriggle, twist, and duck through the hoop while staying connected.

Creativity came into play with the Nail Art activity. Armed with hammers, nails, pieces of wood, and colourful wool, we designed unique string art pieces. Some of the most popular creations included hearts, stars, and initials. A special favourite was the Nail Hedgehogs session, where we used hammers, nails, and pens to design adorable hedgehog patterns on wood—each one different and full of personality.

To top it all off, we gathered around the campfire to make toast. It was a simple but cozy way to end the day, with slices of bread toasted over the flames and then spread with margarine, jam, or marmalade. The warm, crispy toast and the smoky smell of the fire made it a perfect moment to relax and enjoy nature.

Overall, our visit to the Woodland Skills Centre was full of laughter, learning, and lasting memories.
